In collaboration with the Pittsburgh Innovation District and 1Hood Media, Rhythm & Threads will showcase the city's rich artistic talent and innovation. From 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, around 50 vendors will line South Craig Street, offering an eclectic mix of products from thrifters, designers, jewelers, and craftspeople.
Meanwhile, at the intersection of Winthrop Street and South Craig Street, Rhythm & Threads and Collab Arts will host “Eco-Village”, which will be a fusion of sustainability and street culture, where art meets activism in a vibrant celebration of up-cycled creativity. In this space, sustainability advocates will be available for attendees to learn about sustainable fashion and design. This space will also host interactive programming throughout the event. Collab Arts is a student-run multidisciplinary experiential production collective. They use the art of ‘play’ to make creative themed entertainment and interactive shows. Their worldbuilding ideas are dedicated to community-building and social impact through immersive experiences. One of their activation projects include a black-mirror-inspired interactive music video premiere promoting a local hip-hop dance studio. Through their latest experiential concept “Eco-Jam” at the Eco-Village district of Rhythm & Threads, they aim to spread awareness for creative reuse by building an upcycled immersive space of subcultural arts and entertainment.
